According to the Accelerator FAQ, the program provides participating companies with investment capital, access to co-working space at Disney’s creative campus and mentor support and guidance from top Disney executives.
It appears that companies best suited for applying to the accelerator “have participated with technologies as diverse as robotics, artificial intelligence, wearables, messaging and virtual reality” which makes the acceptance of Epic Games and The Void fitting, since both companies are affiliated with VR technologies (through apps and location-based VR experiences).
